I hardly have time to get away from work hassle and from the deafening city life. The pollution. The screaming horns. The nagging boss. And the demanding everyday job. All of these and more are draining and us and never fail to bring us down to our knees.
However, that’s all part of the life that we have. And it’s never unfair to long for some time to have a great escape. And last week, I got one. Boy! I am all too lucky to be at Noni’s Mountain Resort located at Alitagtag, Batangas. And thanks to my BAYRadio 104.7fm family and co-DJs. They paved the way for this adventure.
Noni’s Mountain Resort is almost an hour drive from my hometown Ibaan. We took the road at Balagtas, Batangas City where we passed through Natunuan, the place for cheap pork. We then exited at the Municipality of Alitagtag itself. Taking right from the gasoline station, we had another five minutes before turning left again. From there, we can already feel the coo breeze of air. Well, that’s expected since we hit the road around 6:00pm.
The arterial road leading to Noni’s Mountain Resort is a bit scary. There’s no lights provided along the street. Also, majority of the road can only accommodate one 4-wheeled vehicle in one way. If ever you’ll have another on the other end, you’ll need to push your ride to the extreme right to provide enough space for others to be able to pass off your left side.
The road itself is another thing. I would say, only 40% of the road to the resort is on concrete. The rest. Rough road. But not that much compared to those in mountain treks. But everything stood still when we reached the resort after dealing with the arterial road for almost 20 minutes from the main road.
Reaching the resort, we’re met by a wide wooden gate with a polite guard ready to entertain our inquiries. Actually, my radio family is already there. They went some 40 minutes ahead of us. I brought Marlon Rosaria with me since I need someone who can take my motorbike’s wheel in case I get drunk, although that’s actually my plan. Hehe.
And there we are. We were told by the guard on duty to take the down hill road. We we’re able to have enough space to park my bike. And we were immediately greeted by some Disc Jocks.
We took a cig puffs first, then walked towards the pool. And from there, that’s where we saw how magnificent the resort is. And yes, in an instant, I needed not to ask why it is named “mountain resort”.
The resort sits around 1,000 feet above sea level. And from where we are, we have this spectacular view of Taal Lake, Taal volcano and Mt. Makulot from the Municipality of Cuenca. It was really breath-taking. And honestly, I couldn’t ask for more.
Serenity is all in the place. The swift wind from the lake. The enticing lights. The simple and elegant architectural design of the structures. The food. All can be equated into great fun.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see the whole place. I got drunk early. Hehe. But I think I’ve seen enough to recommend the resort just in case you’re looking for a reception for your wedding, debut and other life events. And if you’re interested, here’s how you can contact Noni’s Mountain Resort:
